For this assignment, I chose to respond to the video “The Forest” by Florencia Acevedo as my video response. I picked this one because I thought it was interesting how she used the lights and shadows achieving a contrast that focus the negative space instead of the positive space. I hope to achieve the focus on the negative space too. I am planning on recording various locations and then change the color channels to an orange color with emphasis on the shadows. The original video by Acevedo is silent and it seems to be like this to focus on the images only. I do not want to use this approach but rather have a relaxing music playing in the background. I want to add some blur to the video, so it looks like it was recorded with an old camera. The camera will be static most of the time, if not always. I will try to get the sun in as many images as I can, so the images do not look dark most of the time.I believe Acevedo tried to accomplish a silent, relaxing video with emphasis in the images shown yet not enough so the viewer does not focus on the video. There is a little issue with the original video as it does have noise and it is somewhat bothering. I wanted to take the same approach by creating a relaxing video that has a little more emphasis on the music, but since it is a relaxing song, the attention is to focus in the video. Like the original video, I did not showed high definition images and they are mostly blurred and orange so the viewer is relaxing and not focusing on neither the music nor the images.
